David Burgener, DVM,
DACVIM
Dr. Burgener is board-certified in Small Animal Internal
Medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He
is from Arizona and received his DVM from Colorado State University
in 1981. He did his internship at the Angell Memorial Animal
Hospital in Boston. He did his residency training in internal
medicine and oncology at Michigan State University. He continued at
Michigan State as an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Medicine
until moving to Phoenix, Arizona where he began the first small
animal internal medicine specialty practice in Arizona in 1987. Dr.
Burgener has been an associate veterinarian in a specialty hospital
in St. Louis since 2001. He has also operated an internal medicine
consulting practice in Las Vegas since 1990 and began practicing at
the Las Vegas Veterinary Referral Center in 2006. Dr. Burgener has
special interests in cardiovascular disease, gastroenterology, and
endoscopic procedures. |

Andrea
Balch, DVM, MS, DACVIM
Dr. Balch
is originally from Mesa, AZ. She received her BS in Agriculture
from the University of Arizona in 1996, her DVM from Oregon State
and Washington State in 2000, and completed a rotating internship in
small animal medicine and surgery at Mesa Veterinary Hospital, a
private specialty hospital, in 2001. Dr. Balch continued to
practice for 2 years at Mesa Veterinary Hospital before doing a
small animal internal medicine residency and Masters of Veterinary
Science degree program at Mississippi State University. Her Masters
research was done in collaboration with the American Red Cross and
involved developing a sterilization technique for human blood
products. Dr. Balch was recently honored with the 2006 American
Association of Veterinary Clinicians National Resident of the year
award. Her areas of special interest include transfusion medicine,
blood disorders, endocrinology and ultrasound. |
