ONCOLOGY: Andrew Vaughan, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Oncology)

Based within the LVVRC, the Las Vegas Veterinary Oncology Center (LVVOC) is a multi-specialty service that offers innovative care for pets with cancer. Currently we offer experienced oncology specialists and surgeons to ensure that the most appropriate treatments are offered and pursued for the beloved pet that develops cancer. Furthermore, in the coming months we will be developing a state-of-the-art, intensity-modulated radiation therapy facility to compliment our cancer treatment program.

Given that the diagnosis of cancer in a pet is often a very traumatic one for owners, we are also proud to announce that our doctors have training in grief counseling. The combination of medical expertise and counseling ensures that both clients and their pets are adequately cared for and that all needs are entirely addressed. Client consultation is provided in a compassionate and professional manner to ensure that owners entirely understand all of the available treatment options, their potential side-effects, and the expected outcomes, before any treatment is pursued.

Andrew Vaughan, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Oncology)

Dr. Vaughan is a 2002 graduate of the veterinary college at the University of Prince Edward Island. Dr. Vaughan did a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at North Carolina State University from 2002-2003. He also went on to complete a medical oncology residency at North Carolina State University. Dr. Vaughan’s special interests include investigation of novel therapies for canine osteosarcoma and lymphoma.
