Shannon Almond, MSPT,
CCRP, Rehabilitation Coordinator
Shannon is a native of Oregon. She earned her Master of Science
degree in Physical Therapy with honors from Pacific University in
1992. Her practice with humans included orthopedic, neurological,
and general medical caseloads in acute care and inpatient
rehabilitation settings. Shannon has been involved with dogs for
most of her life including canine conformation, obedience, and pet
visitations to hospitals and nursing homes. This interest led to
combining her love of rehabilitation and animals by completing the
University of Tennessee Canine Rehabilitation Program in December
2006. Shannon and her husband, Kelly, share their lives with a
large family of dogs and cats.

Maria Shinas, LVT,
CCRP
Maria is a native of New Jersey. She graduated Bryn Mawr College
in 1999 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Biology. Maria graduated with
honors from Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology and received
her A.A.S. in the fall of 2001. She completed her internship at the
Veterinary Specialists of Northern Colorado and became a Certified
Veterinary Technician in January 2002 in Colorado. Maria has been a
licensed veterinary technician in NV since 2006. She has been
pursuing her interest in physical rehabilitation for animals since
college, enrolling in the University of Tennessee's Canine Physical
Rehabilitation program in 2003 and she received her certification in
December 2006.
Maria incorporates her veterinary technician knowledge and
background with her athletic training experience to develop proper
rehab programs for our patients. She resides in North Las Vegas with
two cats, Octavian and Nero.
